Biography

Dan successfully serves as Director of The American School of Kinshasa (TASOK) in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the past 5 years. His international experience began as a middle school student and son of teachers at AIS Lagos, Nigeria, and since then has lived and worked in the United States, Zimbabwe, China, Morocco, and now the DRC. As a product of both American and international education, his teaching and leadership has always been grounded in developing cultural competencies, and building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Dan and his wife Julie have three children that have graduated from IB schools around the world and are now truly global citizens.

As a Board member of the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA) for the past 2 years, Dan works closely with teams supporting education in over 80 AISA member schools across Africa and the world. Our ongoing AISA strategic work supports professional growth, school governance, strengthening child protection, wellbeing, and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion across the region.

Dan holds a Bachelors of Science in Physical Science, a Masters Degree in Education, a Masters Degree in Leadership, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
